Netanyahu, Ban Ki Moon: Joint Conference on Gaza Offensive (Recorded LIVE feed)

How many times has the  world cried for peace and safety in the middle east, only to see another clash?  It will be this way until the 2nd coming of Jesus.

  • “For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.”  1 Thess 5:3

UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon Comments on Gaza Strip Operation.

He begins with  a heavy heart, and with the UN’s position that strongly condemns the rocket attacks (by Hamas) and the use of civilian sites (schools, hospitals and other civilian facilities) for military purposes; as he states that any country has a right to defend itself (while urging Israel to exercise maximum restraint).

Gen Moon takes time to remember the 3 kidnapped Israeli boys (the beginning of Hamas attacks on Israel), as he calls for ‘Peace and security.’  In his message to Palestine and Israel, Gen. Moon states…

  • “Stop fighting
  • Start talking
  • Take on the root causes of the conflict so we are not back to the same situation in another 6 months or a year.”

“We must address the underlying issues including mutual recognition, occupation, despair and denial of dignity; so people do not feel they have to resort to violence as a means of expressing their grievances.  Covenants issues must be addressed by one, legitimate, Palestinian government by adhering to the PLO commitment…

  • Non-violence
  • Recognition of Israel
  • Respect for previous agreements”

He closes with the understanding that some may feel threatened by the latest developments, and dis-enchanted with the peace process, but states “there is no viable alternative to a 2-State Solution.”
