Moscow to Give ‘Appropriate’ Response to New EU Sanctions

Russian Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson:  “On many levels, the Russian leadership has made it clear that we’ll take adequate measures and our response will be absolutely comparable with the actions by the EU,” the Foreign Ministry spokesman said at briefing in Moscow.


Moscow: EU Has ‘Made Its Choice’ Against Peace

(Reuters) – European Union governments agreed on Thursday that new sanctions on Russia over the Ukraine crisis will take effect on Friday, but held out the prospect of cancelling some – or even all – of them next month if they believe a peace plan is working.

Russia’s foreign ministry said the approval of new penalties showed the European Union had “made its choice against” the peace road map, which is aimed at ending the worst confrontation between Moscow and the West since the Cold War.  Read More.
