“And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.” Rev 11:1-2
Daniel was given a vision far into the future, pointing to a time when the Jewish Temple would be
rebuilt. The Temple in Jerusalem was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD, and for nearly 2,000 years
now it has laid in ruins, with just parts of the Temple walls and some of the foundations remaining.
Watchers of end times bible prophecy have long speculated as to whether or not the Temple would be built for a third time. But Daniel, verse 27, clearly sees that there is a rebuilt Temple.
And he (the Antichrist) shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. Daniel 9:27
How can you have sacrifice and oblations ceasing if there is no Temple from which to have sacrifices
and oblations? Clearly there needs to be a working, functioning, rebuilt Temple, and the only place
where God would allow a Temple to be built is exactly where the ruins of the last one now stand.
But as previously stated, this Temple will be taken over, as Daniel the prophet foresaw, but the Lawless One, commonly known as the Antichrist, three and one half years after the start of the Time of Jacob’s Trouble. This Temple will not be the LORD’s temple, the Glory of God will not inhabit it.
Today’s News: The Israel Minister of Housing and Construction Uri Ariel on Friday called for the construction of a “Third Temple” in place of the Al-Aqsa Mosque that is currently occupying the temple mount. Uri Ariel said “The first Temple was destroyed in 586 BCE, the second Temple in 70 CE, and ever since the Jewish People have been mourning its loss.”
He then went on to say “Al-Aqsa Mosque is currently in place of the temple, despite the temple being much holier than it. Al-Aqsa Mosque is only the third most holy mosque in Islam.” “Now that Israel has once again become a Jewish sovereign state, the desire to rebuild the Temple is growing stronger and strong” he added.
JERUSALEM — A hard-line Israeli lawmaker from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud Party toured this city’s most contested holy site with a police escort on Sunday, and a far-right minister reiterated a contentious call for Jews to be allowed to pray there, despite Mr. Netanyahu’s plea for politicians to show responsibility and restraint. “Even saying that Jewish return to the Temple Mount provokes violence encourages Arab violence,” Mr. Feiglin said, countering criticism that the activities of those seeking changes in the decades-old arrangements at the site are provocative and exacerbate tensions.
